La Voja Pinot Noir
Blend: 100% Pinot Noir
Location: Neuquén & Rio Negro, Patagonia
Altitude: 270-415 M.A.S.L.
Alcohol: 13% ABV
Tasting Note: Ruby red in color. Elegant, subtle and floral on the nose, it exhibits wild berries, roses, pomegranate, spices and mineral notes, a wonderfully fresh and complex expression of Patagonian Pinot Noir.
Vinification: La Freneza translates as ‘the madman’ in Esperanto. The grapes for this wine come from 60% of the town of Mainque and 40% of San Patricio del Chañar. The harvest is done by hand in boxes of 20 kg. Fermentation takes place with 25% whole bunches, at a temperature of 25 to 28 degrees. Only very soft pisonages and remontages for polyphenol extraction, the maceration lasts 12 days. The malolactic fermentation takes place in used 80% and new 20% barrels, 100% French. The wine rests in the same barrels for 10 months before being bottled.
