As another packed year draws to a close, we’d like to thank you all again for your continued support in 2024. We’ve been excited to see so many of you this year – and to be able to introduce so many of our winemakers both in person, and through our virtual events.

There’s a book to be written, detailing Ridgway’s global adventures, which start with, in his own words, an idyllic childhood “wading through ponds, jumping on haybales…” in the British County of Dorset.

We are excited to announce the arrival of an adventurer from the Uco Valley in Mendoza! Conejo Verde wines represent the spirit of experimentation, optimism and enthusiasm.

It’s been a busy couple of months here at Condor Wines when it comes to new wines landing in the UK. So, here’s your quick summary of our latest arrivals. We know you’ll find something you can’t wait to try!

Built in 1937 and sympathetically renovated in 2008 under the new ownership of Peter and Karen Dartley. The Casarena winery sits in Perdriel, at the heart of Luján de Cuyo.

When we asked our producers about harvest 2024, the common thread across all their responses was the impact of climate change. Unusual temperature variations, heavy rains and unseasonal winds led to a long and gruelling harvest period….

We’ve seen huge growth in our customer’s interest in Uruguayan wines. The diversity and quality of wines coming from this relatively unknown South American country play a great part in that, so we’re pleased to add some fantastic new listings to our range.

World Malbec Day is a global initiative from Wines of Argentina marking the role of the country in rescuing and developing the Malbec grape to its current iconic status.

After their week in Chile, Lee and Aaron moved on to an amazing week in Argentina. Many thanks to everyone who joined us and many thanks to everyone that welcomed Team Condor so warmly.

When Bordeaux’s François Lurton planted vines in the semi-desert foothills of the Andes Cordillera, at an altitude of 1100m there were many people questioning his wisdom. But when people tried his red blend Chacayes, a wine that came from five year-old vines there, many followed his example, even establishing a new Geographical Indication of Los Chacayes – named after the wine.

When we asked our producers about harvest 2023, the common thread across all their responses was the impact of climate change. Higher temperatures led to early harvests, with some wineries picking 6 weeks earlier than they would have done 10 years ago. Unpredictable precipitation and catastrophic spring frosts and hail have provided additional challenges for winemakers, but they remain upbeat about the quality of the 2023 vintage.
